if you experience (installation related) errors during the startup of Dezyne:
Please follow these steps:
End all (possibly hanging) Dezyne related tasks/processes
on Windows: end all 'node.exe' tasks using 'End Task' in the Task Manager
on Linux and MacOS: run 'killall node' command in a Terminal
Remove previous Nodejs (with npm), dzn and dzn_daemon installations
remove the 'node-v6.10.1-win-x64' folder in 'C:\Users\windows_user', or
remove the 'npm' and 'npmrc' folders in 'C:\Users\windows_user\AppData\Roaming' and uninstall 'Node.js' via 'Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features
on Linux and MacOS: remove '~/.npm'
Start Dezyne (and follow all required steps to install Nodejs and dzn, the Dezyne command line client)
the dzn_daemon will be automatically installed as a first step after dzn is installed (i.e. you do not have to do anything special, just wait until installation completes)
if you run Dezyne behind a (corporate) firewall/proxy:
Dezyne ensures that whenever needed you have the possibility to specify the proxy settings needed to connect to the Dezyne services.
Please follow these steps to specify the required proxy related settings/credentials:
Click on the 'Network Connections' link in the dialog window
If you need to change the specified proxy settings go to Window→Preferences→General→Network Connections
Specify 'Manual' as 'Active Provider'
Fill in the required settings after pressing 'Edit' for HTTP and HTTPS
(not required but recommended) Clear the check box next to SOCKS
if you use the command line interface of Dezyne behind a (corporate) firewall/proxy you have to set the 'http_proxy' environment variable conforming to the following format: 'http_proxy=http://[user[:password]@]proxy[:port]'. Note that characters not allowed in URLs have to be encoded. See URI Recommendations
