Verum Management
Verum’s senior
management team is
composed of experienced professionals who have decades of success in
managing and growing organizations. Their knowledge and insight enable
them to lead Verum in the creation of products and services that meet
our customers’ toughest software challenges.
Robert Howe
Robert is a founder and CEO of Verum. He combines solid technical expertise in
software engineering with a strong track record for building and
developing businesses.
Howe joined GST Software
Development in 1984, moving to The Netherlands with the firm in 1985. In
1989 he founded Mountside Software Engineering, a firm specialising in
technical industrial IT services, and grew the business to 60 people
before selling the company to Imtech in 2001.
Robert
graduated from the University of Manchester in 1982 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in physics.
Guy Broadfoot
Guy
is a
founder and CTO of Verum. A veteran of the software development
industry, he combines deep academic expertise with solid technical
experience in developing products and turning round failed software
projects. Broadfoot has been designing and implementing software
projects since 1965, and in recent years has developed a specialised
interest in the application of formal methods.
In 1986
Broadfoot founded Silverdata, a software company that developed products
for marine navigation and hydrographic survey. He sold the product
rights to private investors in 1998. Guy worked as a consultant to
Mountside Software Engineering from 1998, where he was responsible for
establishing a rigorous software project planning and financial control
system.
Guy graduated with distinction from the University of Oxford in 2001 with a Masters degree in software engineering.
Philippa Hopcroft
Philippa, who has been an IP & Research professional with Verum since its
foundation in January 2004, brings a wealth of expertise in many fields
of software development. She completed a Masters degree in Computation
with distinction in 1998, followed by a DPhil (PhD) in Computation in
2001, both achieved at Oxford University. Her PhD specialised in the
application of Communicating Sequential Processes (CSP) and data
independence to the formal verification of security protocols.
Dr
Hopcroft was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (Salvesen
Fellowship) at University College (Oxford) in 1999, followed by a
Research Assistant post at the Computing Laboratory. As well as
continuing her research in security analysis, Hopcroft collaborated with
Guy Broadfoot on the theoretical underpinnings of Analytical Software
Design (ASD), and co-authored the resulting patent application.
